Department Overview
The Environmental Health Technology programme at De Potter College of Health Technology is designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required to protect and promote public health through environmental sanitation and disease prevention. The curriculum covers environmental hygiene, waste management, food sanitation, water quality control, occupational health, vector control, epidemiology, and public health legislation. Students receive extensive classroom instruction, laboratory practicals, and field experience to prepare them for professional practice.
The programme is approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and accredited by the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON). Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates are eligible to sit for the Professional Qualifying Examination conducted by EHCON for registration and professional practice as Environmental Health Technologists.
