The Public Health Technology programme prepares students to address emerging public health challenges through disease prevention, health promotion, epidemiology, environmental health, health policy, and community health interventions. The programme combines classroom learning with practical field experience to produce professionals capable of improving population health and supporting national healthcare programmes.
The programme is approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and accredited by the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON) and other relevant professional bodies responsible for public health programmes. Graduates become eligible to sit for the prescribed Professional Qualifying Examination conducted by the appropriate regulatory body for registration and professional practice.

About Program
The ND Public Health Technology programme focuses on developing skilled professionals who understand the principles of disease prevention, health promotion, community health assessment, and public health management. Students are trained to identify health challenges, implement preventive strategies, and support public health programmes aimed at improving the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
The curriculum covers key areas including epidemiology, health education, environmental health, communicable and non-communicable disease control, maternal and child health, nutrition, community mobilization, health statistics, and public health research methods.
Graduates are equipped to support healthcare systems, participate in public health planning and implementation, and contribute to national and community health improvement initiatives.
- Duration: 24 Months (Full-Time)
- Programme Structure: Four Semesters
- Clinical Practice: Community Health Fieldwork, Public Health Outreach Programmes, Health Surveys, and Field-Based Practical Experience
