The Environmental Health Technology programme at De Potter College of Health Technology is designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required to protect and promote public health through environmental sanitation and disease prevention. The curriculum covers environmental hygiene, waste management, food sanitation, water quality control, occupational health, vector control, epidemiology, and public health legislation. Students receive extensive classroom instruction, laboratory practicals, and field experience to prepare them for professional practice.
The programme is approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and accredited by the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON). Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates are eligible to sit for the Professional Qualifying Examination conducted by EHCON for registration and professional practice as Environmental Health Technologists.

About Program
The ND Environmental Health Technology programme focuses on developing skilled professionals who can address public health challenges through effective environmental management, sanitation practices, and disease prevention strategies. Students are trained in areas such as environmental sanitation, waste management, food hygiene, water quality control, occupational health and safety, pollution control, vector control, and community health education.
The curriculum combines classroom instruction, laboratory sessions, field inspections, community outreach programmes, and practical experiences to develop students’ technical competence, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and professional ethics. Students gain hands-on experience in assessing environmental health risks, implementing control measures, and promoting sustainable environmental practices.
