Department Overview
The Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) programme at De Potter College of Health Technology is designed to produce competent frontline healthcare professionals equipped with the knowledge and practical skills required to deliver quality primary healthcare services. Students receive intensive training in disease prevention, maternal and child health, community diagnosis, health education, environmental sanitation, immunization, and health promotion through classroom instruction, laboratory practicals, and community-based clinical experience.
The programme is approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and accredited by the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN). Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates are eligible to sit for the Professional Qualifying Examination conducted by CHPRBN for registration and professional practice.
