The Health Assistant programme provides students with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to support healthcare professionals in delivering quality patient care. The programme emphasizes basic nursing care, patient hygiene, infection prevention and control, first aid, health education, vital signs monitoring, and healthcare ethics. Students undergo practical clinical training in approved healthcare facilities, preparing them to function effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

The programme is approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and structured in accordance with the standards of the relevant health regulatory authorities. Graduates are equipped with the competencies required for entry-level healthcare support roles and are prepared to pursue further professional development within the health sector.

About Program

The Health Assistant Medical programme focuses on developing competent healthcare support personnel who can provide assistance in hospitals, clinics, primary healthcare centres, and community health settings. Students are trained in basic patient care, health promotion, first aid, infection prevention and control, basic medical procedures, and effective communication within healthcare environments.

The curriculum combines classroom instruction with practical demonstrations, clinical exposure, and supervised healthcare activities to develop students’ confidence, professionalism, compassion, and ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

Students gain knowledge in areas such as human anatomy and physiology, basic nursing care, patient hygiene, nutrition, vital signs monitoring, emergency response, healthcare ethics, medical terminology, and community health practices. Emphasis is placed on maintaining patient safety, confidentiality, teamwork, and providing quality support services to patients and healthcare providers.
