The Health Promotion and Education programme at De Potter College of Health Technology is designed to produce professionals who can educate individuals, families, and communities on healthy lifestyles, disease prevention, and health improvement strategies. The curriculum focuses on health communication, behavioural change, community mobilization, reproductive health, nutrition, school health, public health campaigns, and programme planning and evaluation. Students acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical experience through community-based outreach and health education programmes.
The programme is approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and delivered in line with national standards for health education and promotion. Graduates are equipped to contribute to public health initiatives, community development programmes, non-governmental organizations, healthcare institutions, and government agencies. Where applicable, graduates are eligible to participate in the professional certification or qualifying examinations prescribed by the relevant regulatory and professional bodies.

About Program
The ND Health Education and Promotion programme focuses on developing professionals who can create awareness, encourage healthy lifestyles, and support public health initiatives through effective communication and community engagement. Students are trained in the principles of health education, behavioural change strategies, community mobilization, health communication, and public health advocacy.
The curriculum integrates classroom learning with practical field activities, community outreach programmes, health campaigns, and supervised projects to develop students’ abilities in health planning, programme implementation, research, and evaluation.
Students gain knowledge in areas such as health promotion strategies, disease prevention, nutrition education, reproductive health, environmental health awareness, health psychology, epidemiology, community development, and health communication. The programme emphasizes leadership skills, ethical practice, teamwork, critical thinking, and the use of evidence-based approaches to address health challenges.
